This weekend I had the pleasure of traveling with some spectacular boxers down to the Dog Daze dog show in Guthrie, OK. I’m really having a lot of fun learning more about dog show training and handling — it’s so familiar to what I was doing for the last 20 years, but it’s definitely got a different feel. I managed to find a conformation training class I can jump in on this week and I’m really looking forward to seeing what that’s like.
While I got some OK shots at the actual show (wow, dirt arenas are SO ugly!), I had the most fun just grabbing some “candids” in the back yard. I originally planned to take a pop-up back drop and a flash to grab some more polished portraits, but I’m really glad I just stuck with a my 2 bodies and some lenses.
Hoping to see some of these guys again at some shows in October, and hoping to shoot some more action in the ring as well! Stay tuned!
